Once Cent Per Dollar

The proposed update would add one cent to each taxable dollar spent in Fairfield.

That equals:

  • 10¢ on a taxable $10 purchase

  • 50¢ on a taxable $50 purchase

  • $1 on a taxable $100 purchase

Funds stay local

Revenue generated by Measure P would remain under local control and could not be taken by the State or federal government.

Citizen Oversight and Audits

Measure P includes independent citizen oversight, annual financial audits, and public reporting.

Many everyday expenses are exempt

Sales tax is not generally charged on groceries, prescription medications, rent, mortgage payments, utilities, medical appointments, or many services.

Every dollar generated by this sales tax measure would stay local and be used by fairfield. It cannot be taken by sacramento or Washington, DC.
